Our Hobbies

Our favorite past times include going on long walks throughout our beautiful neighborhood and riverside Astoria Park, Broadway shows, days at the beach, dinners in Manhattan and Met games. As a lover of arts and entertainment, Larry makes sure we go on trips to our amazing museums and take in the culture of our great city. Both of us are avid readers and go to the gym regularly. We look forward to reading Goodnight Moon and Curious George with our child and raising our child to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Cheering for the Mets at Citifield.

Stopping to pose with Alvin and the Chipmunks on the way to the movie theater.

Resting our feet in Phil's favorite room in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Enjoying the summer sun out on Long Island.

Just a small section of our collection of books.

Having fun at the annual carnival in our neighborhood park.

We love playing board games, especially Ticket to Ride, which we play on visits to Lake Placid.

We love trying the city's endless food options.

We closed our wedding rehearsal dinner night with very own rendition of the Mets fight song.

Feeling like kids again in the Magic Kingdom.

Appreciating the beautiful view during a hike through the canyon.

Phil and I on our first cruise together.

We love collecting souvenirs of the places we've been.

Stopping for a photo with Phil's Mom and one of our favorite Disney characters in Epcot Center.

Waiting for the planes to fly over our heads on a beach that's right next to the island's airport.
Our Travels
We take trips a few times a year. Our trip selection is diverse: Europe, cruises, National Parks, and even family trips to Disney! We like to bring little things home for our wall of tchotchkes (that's New York for knick-knacks). We like lazy mornings and activity filled afternoons. Most importantly, after a few days, we like to go home. We both share a love of traveling, but we share a greater love for returning to our home!
Phil's Faves

I work in book publishing, an industry enjoy because I love reading and checking out local bookstores. I can't wait to read stacks and stacks of picture books with our child. --Larry

Great music never gets old. I love collecting vinyl records from garage sales and used record shops. Our child will definitely be exposed to a diverse selection of music -- new and old. --Larry

I love watching live performances from little known plays to big Broadway musicals. -- Larry

I can't resist the dance floor at a party. Here I am doing the Electric Slide at Phil's cousin's birthday party. When we have child, I fully expect our household to break out into impromptu dance parties on a regular basis. --Larry

My favorite at-home activity is doing jigsaw puzzles. It's a great way to relax in the evenings after a work day. --Larry

I have fun in all the boroughs of New York, but I lived in Brooklyn for almost 10 years before moving to Queens. I have so many memories in Brooklyn and we take a short car ride to visit often. --Larry

I love frequenting New York's many art galleries and museums. Here's me and my sister chatting at the Museum of Modern Art during at visit. --Larry

I haven't played in years, but professional tennis is my favorite sport as a spectator. I love that the U.S. Open happens just miles away from home. --Larry

I'm a real film buff. I've spent hours watching everything from classic movies to foreign films to summer blockbusters. --Larry

There's nothing like our hometown under a blanket of snow! How about we go to the park and build snowmen with our child? --Phil

I love time at the Gym. And my favorite workout is the 40 foot rock climbing wall. --Phil

This unique Alpine Village in Update NY is a family treasure. I have been going there since I was an infant. Larry and I got engaged there and make trips there every winter and summer. Our kid will learn to ski at the Olympic Mountain...Whiteface! --Phil

Won't it be exciting for our future child to take free flights all over the country and ? Larry and I enjoy this perk...and it has gotten us to Yosemite, Disney, the Caribbean Islands, and Europe! --Phil

Larry and I have a wonderful, supportive, loving family. Our baby will be raised with the love of a lot of people. It all starts with our Moms...and this photo is for her! --Phil

What's a better sport than skiing? I started when I was 3 (the best time to learn) and have seen the Rockies, Alps, Adirondacks, Catskills, and Green Mountains of Vermont. There is nothing on earth that allows for the views and experience that a skier gets. My dad taught me everything I know about skiing...and I can't wait to pass that on to my kid! --Phil

What a beautiful hobby! And the fruits of your labor is the growing vegetation around you. Gardening puts you in touch with God and nature. I have been planting, pruning, seeding, and mowing since I was 10. I will make sure our child knows the difference between a Petunia and an Impatient. --Phil

Come snow, rain, cold, or heat (and my family has experienced them all over the past 33 years) this is a must do before the big Family Dinner! We leave at 8 am and drive into Midtown. We are home by noon. In between Larry and my parents watching the giant balloons float down 6 Ave. We all become kids on this day! And there is no better time to actually be a kid! Trivia: Did you know Snoopy has been in more parades than any other character? --Phil

Boy or girl, this is a value I will instill in our child. Wood working, tool use, model building, machinery use...these are assets in life and create fun, satisfying projects or make you the next Macgyver! --Phil
